Sharp Top Cove Continued!

It's amazing to think how much we can fit into one 24 hour period. Good luck trying to keep up with us... It's an arduous task! You'll see some pictures of club, cabin and camp wide activities. Our friends are having a blast, but I think the leaders may be having just as much fun (if not more)!

Turkey Pen girls having a blast at club!

Northern ladies posing after winning the cleanest cabin award!

This is called the Quantum Leap... campers climb to the top of a giant telephone pole and jump off. Scary? yes. but all of our girls did it!

Caroline did a little dance before she jumped. The ropes workers were very impressed with her moves!

All of Grimsley took the stage for some Beyonce!

I personally don't want to leave Sharp Top... I love it here so much, but the reason isn't all of the activities we're involved with... It's the fantastic, fun loving and hilarious girls I get to spend my days (and late nights) with. Last night, we laughed for hours talking about my cat's birthday party. Who does that? The joy of the Lord is surrounding us here and I am so blessed to be submerged in it. As always, prayers are appreciated that all of our high school friends will grow closer to the Lord this week. Keep checking for more pictures. I'm about to go play ping pong with Lauren and Majdou. They got to the semifinals of the tournament this morning! Ehnobeh!

Greetings from Sharp Top!

Welcome to the best week of a Young Lifer's life. Not to mention the best week of a leader's summer. I'm so stoked to be at Sharp Top with some of the cutest girls I know! I just wanted to update y'all on a few things we've been up to since arriving in Jasper, GA (hilarious name for a town right?)

Night one: Right before the mud obstacle course. Grimsley and Northwest girls dominated!

Northwest fellas on day 2 at the volleyball tournament! Always looking fresh.

I feel so blessed to be walking with these girls and meeting new Greensboro friends this week. Pray for them to see life as it's meant to be lived! These pictures are just a little taste from the first half of our week. I'll keep posting as I get time. Until then...gotta go take more pictures! :)

A Parking Deck, Drum Kit, and a Friday Afternoon

One beautiful Friday afternoon, four talented friends set off on an adventure. After scurrying around Greensboro for the perfect supplies, they wound up on the roof of a parking deck with some drums, a piece of plywood, a camera, and some fancy shoes. What occurred from this mixing of skills? One of the coolest experiences I've ever had, that's for sure. Special thanks to Patrick and Caleb for helping Callie and me out on our tap project. You are so affirming for us!

Why I love my Life...

Hmm. Blogging. It's fun, but holy cow it's difficult to keep up! So much has occurred since my last posts, but how much of it does one really want to hear? Probably not a lot. So let's just cut and paste some good stuff, shall we?

It's been very difficult getting back into the swing of things for this second semester. I still don't have a major (although I'm starting to get a bit of clarity, thank God!), Young Life has only now started back, and honestly, I miss my friends that I saw over my Christmas break. But even more honestly, I'm just excited about this semester. The Lord has been working in my heart in so many ways. Earlier this week, a friend and I decided to try to pray without ceasing for a day. If you've never tried that (even though the bible tells us to do so), I highly recommend it. It's as if you're truly just hanging out and walking with God all day. And what better way to live! A little later in the week, a different friend (hey Allison!!) told me about praying in color. It's about doodling your prayers. If you know me, you realize this seems too good to be true. It's not! Simply doodle your prayers to God and He truly works in them. By the way if you're a blogging fan, check out my friend Allison's page. She's a cool chick.

These are two of my best friends, Michelle and Sam. We met the summer before our senior year of high school while working at a Young Life camp in Colorado, and we've stuck close together ever since. Michelle and I attend UNCG together (and are thankfully living together next year. SO STOKED!), and Sam. . . Well, Sam is a free spirit if I've ever met one. She just took off to Scotland. Leaving  Michelle and me. Just kidding. We're excited for her! Sam is doing a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) DTS in Scotland for 6 months. This picture was taken by our dear friend Annie (who we also met in Colorado) on our last hangout session in America. We strolled Franklin Street one last time, ate delicious food, and poured our love on her. We know she is loving Europe, so at this point, our prayers are that she will eventually come back to us.

Every Christmas, our group of girlfriends from high school get together at Kate's house for a gingerbread decorating party. It may sound super lame, but let me assure you, it's the highlight of our year. The tradition started when we were in kindergarten and has continued until now. We're 20. How fantastic! This is our annual stair/prom-posey picture. I love these girls so much and am so blessed by this tradition!

One more little tidbit from my break includes a week long adventure with camp friends. Talk about a blessing. These guys are from all over North and South Carolina, and it's rare when more than 4 of us get together at a time. Well, we had a reunion in Rutherfordton, a small NC mountain town where we stayed in a massive church house. It was wonderful! From there, we went to the Avett Brothers concert in Asheville. My first Avett concert was a success! Accompanied with some of the most hilarious people ever, we jammed out til 2 am with, dare I say it, one of the best bands ever. From there, we drove until 5 am to Columbia for another tradition of a New Year's party at a friends house. Such great bonding time with lots of laughs and great food. I love my friends!

Well, this is my life in a  nutshell. Until my next post, whenever that may be, I bid you all a beautiful day.
